El Dr. Helmut Marko ahora ha descartado a Nico Hulkenberg para el segundo asiento en Red Bull para 2020.
Anteriormente, mientras insistía en que el equipo preferiría elegir entre Alex Albon, Daniil Kvyat y Pierre Gasly para ser el próximo compañero de equipo de Max Verstappen, el jefe del equipo Christian Horner admitió que Hulkenberg era una opción «conservadora» que no podía descartarse.
Pero cuando se le preguntó en Spa by Auto Bild si el refugiado de Renault Hulkenberg realmente tiene una oportunidad, el jefe del programa de pilotos de Red Bull, Marko, respondió sin rodeos: «No».
En cambio, se cree que Hulkenberg está a pocos días de haber sido inscrito para 2020 por el equipo estadounidense Haas.
