El campo de 2020 se divide en tres grupos distintos en términos de ritmo, según el piloto de Haas, Romain Grosjean.

Como se esperaba, Mercedes tiene una clara ventaja y, según Charles Leclerc, el déficit de Ferrari es «probablemente peor de lo que esperábamos».
El francés Grosjean dio una instantánea inicial de lo que él cree que es el orden jerárquico general.
«Hay tres grupos», dijo.
«Mercedes está al frente con Red Bull y Racing Point. Luego están Ferrari, Renault y McLaren. Y estamos en el último grupo con Alpha Tauri, Alfa Romeo y Williams», agregó Grosjean.
«Todo es bastante ajustado. Dos décimas arriba o abajo pueden hacer una gran diferencia».
